For an alternative to hard surfaces: Carpet flooring

There are times and spaces where more than a hard surface is necessary. That might be a playroom or a den or that might be a bedroom, for instance. Sometimes, it is valuable to have the best of both worlds and have a room with wood or tile but also with a soft area rug in the middle. If you are looking for an option, then carpeting is the place to look.

Wall-to-wall

Often, when people think of carpeting, they think of wall-to-wall carpet flooring. And for rooms where that is desired, we have countless options from which to choose. For a more traditional look, there are basic twists and Berbers. The first is a standard cut pile and the second is a loop pile. Both are soft underfoot, though the loop pile of a Berber handles higher levels of traffic than is a standard cut pile.

There are variants on both types of these materials. For instance, there are friezes, which are essentially a cut-pile twist, but whose twists are more tightly wound to offer a more textured look as well as more durability when high traffic is a factor. There are also patterned Berbers, which are designed to add a touch of class to any more formal space.

Area rugs

Perhaps, though, you have hard surfaces in a room but would like to add a touch of softness. In cases like this, custom area rugs may be a way to go. We offer a wide range of manufactured area rugs in our showroom, but if you find a piece of carpet that you fall in love with, we can custom bind that into an area rug as well. If you want to get more creative still, we can custom make an area rug for you with more than one color to create a border or a design on your carpet. Rug binding is also a great option for that remnant left over from an installation, allowing it to be used in a variety of places in your home.

Padding and installation

Don’t forget your padding and installation. The right pad not only adds softness to your carpet but will also provide the support your flooring needs for its maximum life expectancy. Also, our courteous and professional installers will ensure that you are satisfied with the installation of your new flooring.
